Detailed itinerary
Day 1 of the 7 days Tanzania wildlife safari
pick up from arusha and transfer to Lake Manyara national park, on day 1 of the 7 days Tanzania wildlife safari your drive guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha or Arusha airport, brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Lake Manyara national park which is located at the foot of the great rift valley in northern Tanzania. The journey takes about 4 hours drive and on the way you will have views of the local people, beautiful landscapes, traditional homesteads among others and upon arrival you will check into the lodge and have an early lunch. After lunch you will go for an afternoon game drive in the park where you will be able to view different animals like the tree climbing lions which will be seen lying up in the acacia tree branches, elephants, zebras, giraffes, warthogs, buffaloes, impalas, bushbucks, wildebeest, leopards, waterbucks among others. Lake Manyara national park is one of the national parks in Africa which harbors the rare tree climbing lions, they can also be viewed in Ishasha sector-Queen Elizabeth national park in Uganda. After the afternoon game drive you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Morning game drive in Lake Manyara national park and transfer to Serengeti national park
Morning game drive, after an early breakfast on day 2 of the 7 days Tanzania wildlife safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive in the park because that’s the time when wildlife is most active. During the game drive you will have incredible views of predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, spotted hyenas among others hunting, have views of animals like elephants, buffaloes, zebras, dik dik, giraffes, bushbucks, banded mongoose, bohor reedbuck grazing, primates like olive baboons, blue monkeys, different bird species like yellow billed stork, pink backed pelican, crowned eagles, flamingos among others. After the morning game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.
Transfer to Serengeti national park, after lunch you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Serengeti national park. The journey is rewarding with stunning views of animals, beautiful landscape and upon arrival you will continue for an evening game drive where you will be able to spot animals like buffaloes, elephants, wildebeests, hartebeest, waterbucks, gazelle, oribi, impala, zebras, warthogs, have views of predators, bird species, beautiful sunset among others. After the game drive you will drive to check into the lodge, have dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Full day game drive in Serengeti national park
Full day game drive, after an early breakfast on day 3 of the 7 days Tanzania wildlife safari your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a full day game drive in the park where you will either carry packed lunch or opt for a lunch break and return for an afternoon game drive. During the game drive you will be able to explore endless grassland and savannah plains in the park with spectacular views of plant and tree species, animals like elephants, buffaloes, zebras, hartebeest, gazelle, waterbucks, bushbucks, view predators like cheetahs, leopards, lions, hyenas, jackal, hunting dogs and the rare black rhinos if you are lucky, view primates like patas monkeys, vervet monkeys, baboons, different bird species like rufous tailed weaver, grey breasted spurfowl, yellow collared lover bird, silver birds, flamingos among others because Serengeti national park is one of the top birding destination in Tanzania. During the game drive you will also have beautiful views of the sunrise, witness the great wildebeest migration as one million wildebeests, thousands of zebras, gazelle and other antelopes migrate from Serengeti plains crossing the Grumeti River to the Masai Mara in Kenya in search of fresh grass. You will have lunch under the shade of an acacia tree or drive back to the lodge and return for an afternoon game drive where you will view some of the animals that you missed during the morning game drive, have views of the sunset and in the evening drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer from Serengeti national park to Ngorongoro crater
After breakfast on day 4 of the 7 days Tanzania wildlife safari, you will carry your lunch box, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Ngorongoro crater which is the world’s largest unfilled volcanic caldera that is 2000 feet deep, 264 square kilometers surface and 19km wide. On the way you will have views of different animals in Serengeti national park and have a stopover at Olduvai Gorge a site where Dr Leakey discovered the fossil remains of the early man. You will also visit Olduvai Gorge Museum at the edge of Olduvai gorge where you will see and learn about the early Hominin fossils of plants and mammals, the stone tools of our ancestors, bookshop where you will read about the human origins, discover the history of the site, interact with the residents to know the significance of the area among others. After the tour at Olduvai Gorge museum you will have lunch and continue to Ngorongoro conservation area where you will check into the lodge, relax and prepare for an evening game drive in the crater where you will have great views of animals like elephants, buffaloes, zebras, great views of the landscape among others in the crater floor. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon nature walk
Morning game drive, on day 5 of the 7 days Tanzania wildlife safari you will have an early breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive where you will descent into the crater with incredible views of colorful bird species like kori bustard, saddle billed stork, casping lapwing, grey crowned crane and animals such as the big five of elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards and black rhinos, other animals like wildebeest, gazelle, zebras, predators like cheetahs, spotted hyenas in the crater floor among others. After the game drive you will return back to the lodge for lunch.
Guided nature walk, after lunch you will go for a guided nature walk in the conservation area which starts with a briefing at the park headquarters. After the briefing you will be allocated an experienced park guide who is well conversant with different walking trails and an armed park ranger to protect you from any danger. during the guided nature walk you will get up close and personal with different animals in their nature environment such as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, warthogs, have beautiful views of the colorful butterflies, plant and tree species, listen to sweet sounds of birds singing in the trees, relax your mind and enjoy the peaceful environment, take great photos among others which gives you memorable experiences. After the nature walk you will trek to the park headquarters and meet up with your driver guide to drive back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer from Ngorongor crater to Tarangire national park
On day 6 of the 7 days Tanzania wildlife safari, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge and your driver guide will pick you up to transfer to Tarangire national park. The journey takes about 4 hours drive with spectacular views of different animals, landscape, birds on the way and upon arrival you will check into the lodge and have lunch.
Afternoon game drive, after lunch you will meet up with your driver guide to go for an amazing game drive which gives you an opportunity to view large herds of elephants and other animals like giraffes, zebras, impalas, buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, wildebeest, elands, different bird species, view baobab trees among others. After the game drive you will return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Morning game drive and departure to Arusha
Morning game drive, after breakfast on the last day of the 7 days Tanzania wildlife safari your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive where you will be able to view animals when they are most active. You will therefore have great views of animals like elephants, buffaloes, greater kudus, hartebeest, wildebeest, gazelle, zebras, dik dik, giraffes, warthogs among others grazing in open grass with due, view predators like lions, wild dogs, leopards before they go back to their hiding areas, view bird species like helmeted guinea fowl, kori bustard, yellow collared lovebirds, different tree species among others. After the morning game drive you will drive to the lodge for lunch.
Departure to Arusha, after lunch you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Arusha town where you will be dropped at the airport for your departure flight or dropped at the nearest hotel.
