Talek gate

Talek gate of Masai Mara National Reserve is found in the north western part of the reserve and is one of the most developed gates in the Mara. Talek gate is found in the large open savannah grassland, just next to the Talek River which is a natural border between the eastern and western regions of Masai Mara National Reserve. The Talek River is a source of fresh water to the animals in Masai Mara National Reserve, even during the dry season when the water levels of the river do drop.

Oloololo gate

Oloololo gate is one of the most used Masai gates, located on the north eastern part of Masai Mara National Reserve. The Oloololo gate can be accessed through the C13 the Aitong Road and through C14, the Singor-Kaboson road. The Oloololo gate is an easy access route to the west of the reserve as well as the Mara River and the Oloololo escarpment in the north.

Oloolaimutia gate

Oloolaimutia gate is located in the eastern part of the reserve, furnished with a number of facilities like offices from where travellers can get detailed information about the reserve say the remains of wildlife. The Oloolaimutia gate also has enough parking space for a number of cars.

Sekenani gate

Sekenani gate is both an entry and exit point to the Masai Mara National Reserve. The Sekenani gate is located on the eastern border in the outskirt of Sekenani town, amidst vast savannah plains on the eastern border of Masai Mara National Reserve. Sekenani gate is the main gate of entry to the Masai, and is the most used given its proximity to the main road from Narok town

Musiara gate

Musiara gate is located in the north eastern part of Masai Mara National Reserve, next to the Oloololo gate and opposite the Mra River.

Sand River gate

Sand River gate is located on the southern part of Masai Mara National Reserve, near the border of Kenya and Serengeti National Park Tanzania. The Sand River gate was commonly used by travellers who do both Kenya safaris and Tanzania safaris to the Reserve and Serengeti National Park respectively. This Sand river gate was the most sought after for crossing to the Serengeti National Park before it was closed having travellers opting for the only available option of crossing through the Isebania border.
