Kitela Lodge & African Spa- Ngorongoro : Kitela lodge and African spa is a mid range accommodation situated in Karatu areas in Northern Tanzania , on the top of the valley overlooking the Eastern wall of Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania region. The lodge is set just 8 km from Karatu Town and 45 minutes from Lake manyara national park. It is convenient and situated in an ideal place for guests who want to visit lake manyara , Tarangire and Ngorongoro Crater (3 parks in Tanzania) offering a stunning View of The coffee plantation and waterfalls with in the incredible highlands of Ngorongoro.
The lodge is under Tarangire wilderness camps and lodges that runs and manages perfect accommodations across Kenya and Tanzania. One can be at the lodge by road from Arusha town taking approximately 3-4 hours drive to Ngorongoro crater and an hour to fly from Arusha to the close lake manyara airstrip then 30 minutes to be transferred to the lodge .
Kitela lodge and African spa consists of 20 elegant and comfortable chalets surrounded by beautiful gardens, coffee plantations and farms reflecting African traditional building style with grass thatched roofs and modern Comfort. Rooms are well elevated, decorated and furnished with private en-suite facilities like Flushing toilets , hot and cold showers with bathtubs , Air conditioning , wrapped mosquito nets , flat screen TVs, free toiletries, hair driers , wooden rocking chairs , Free bottled water, verandas sitting areas and private balconies that gives a stunning view over the Ngorongoro Conservation area, farmlands and surrounding areas .
Rooms are well equipped with excellent and comfortable queen sized beds with clean and washed beddings. There are cracking fireplace and minibars at the camp that provides warmth to visitors in the nights and during cold days. Rooms are in different categories and sizes ; 2 single beds and double bed , family room consist of 2 rooms with connecting doors . Rooms cost ranges from 300$ per night and above sometimes rate goes slightly high during peak/ high season than in Low season.

Ngorongoro crater is found in the Northern part of Tanzania close to Ngorongoro conservation area in the great rift valley covering the total area of 8,292km and its 3 million years old . The crater is the best place in East Africa with beautiful breathtaking Views. There are different attractions in the park which include; wild beast migration from Serengeti , Ngorongoro crater , Salei Plains and Ol karien Gorge, Variety flora and Fauna, stunning scenery and many more attractions. The park has different categories of accommodation like; Budget , Mid range and luxury accommodation that are convenient and affordable to guests visiting the area.
The park contains short grasses with more high lands and other beautiful volcanoes. The area have over 25,000 large animals including 26 black rhinoceros and over 100 number of lions, 7,000 wild beasts, 4,000 zebras, 3,000 eland and 3,000 Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles .
The park has different animal including the big five mammals of the world ; lion ,Buffaloes, elephant, leopards ,Rhinos ,zebras , implalas , antelopes and different bird species . There are more different activities to do while in the Park which include ; Game viewing at crater and lake Eyasi view point to different animals migrating , Crater viewing , Cultural visits in the local village, Hiking the Gol Mountains in the remote areas of the park , Crater Rim Nature walks, Bird watching in the park, Visiting archaeological like oldivai gorge museum and many other activities . The Park gives stunning view of the Ngorongoro Crater since it’s the largest caldera in the world and the surrounding areas. There are more masaai mara pastoralists in Ngorongoro park . its 80$ per person entering Ngorongoro park . June –july and late January and February are the best month to travel in Tanzania for a safari especially Ngorongoro side
