KICHUGUU TENTED CAMP- TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Kichuguu tented camp is under chaaka camps that offer best accommodations and runs different properties in Tanzania. Kichuguu camp is a permanent mid range accommodation found inside Tarangire national park in Northern Tanzania. It is situated in the great position, where you can explore the park with its beautiful sweeping views. Kichuguu is a Swahili word meaning a termite mound which was named after prominent features that are all over Tarangire national park. You can be at the camp from Arusha Town which takes about 2-3 hours drive then 45 minute to fly from Arusha to the close Kuro airstrip then 10 minutes to be transferred to the camp.
Kichuguu tented camp consist of 12 spacious and comfortable permanent Tents that are built in traditional African style with En- suite bathroom facilities including flushing toilets, traditional safari bucket showers, mosquito nets, towels and free toiletries, free bottled water , wooden chairs, slippers etc. Tents have sitting areas and verandas, you relax while overlooking the stunning view over the Tarangire park, wildlife visiting the camp and surrounding area . Tents have carpets inside and well equipped with comfortable queen sized beds containing clean and washed beddings with ceiling funs. There are campfires at the camp where guests relax and share experiences about the safaris; it also provides warmth to visitors during the cold nights. Tents can be configured as single, double, twin, triple and family tent comprised of 2 en-suite tents connected via shared Lounge. Rooms cost ranges from 200$ per night and above, sometimes rate goes slightly high during high /peak season than in Low season.
Kichuguu tented camp offers more services and facilities which include; A restaurant in main dining area that serves different meals both international and African- inspired meals that meets guests choice ; barbecue breakfast in bush, picnic lunch and dinners served by well trained, friendly and organized staff ,they also serve bush diners .
A well-stocked bar with shared lounge with variety of good selection of drinks, local ,cocktail, wines, spirits and international beer, you relax and sip the cocktail while overlooking the spectacular view over the wilderness, wildlife visiting the camp and the surrounding area, Free parking space available, camping at the camp available, offers airport pick -ups and drop-offs since the airstrip is close to the lodge ,Night game viewing offered , Laundry services available .

Tarangire national park is considered to be the sixth largest park in Tanzania country found in south east of Manyara national park in the Northern part of Tanzania. The name of the park comes from Tarangire River that crosses the park and the river is the only source of fresh waters for animals in Tarangire eco system. It occupies the total area of 2,850 KM squared and its 150Km from Arusha. The park is small with twenty six mammal, famous with large herd of big five animals and best destination for birding like; Buffaloes, elephants, zebras, enlands, Rhinos Impalas ,antelopes, mention but a few and 500 bird species like; yellow necked , helmeted, barbet, starling ,swift ,stripped swallows etc. The park has different categories of accommodation like; Budget, Mid range and luxury accommodation that are convenient and affordable to guests visitors visiting tarangire national park. There are more different activities to do while in the Park which include; Game viewing, you spot different animals in the park, Visiting Tarangire River, Cultural visits in the local village, Camping , Bird watching/Birding since the park has more bird species ,Boat trip at Tarangire river, Night walking safaris , sightseeing trips , hot air balloon riding in tarangire park etc. its 60 $ to enter the park .Dry season is the best period to visit tarangire national park as animals are migrating in June- September hence giving a chance to see some of the animals
