6 days Tanzania wildlife safari takes place across the northern part of Tanzania starting in Arusha and then a visit to Lake Manyara national park home to the tree climbing lions after which you will visit Serengeti national park the oldest national park of Tanzania also known for the wildebeest migration, Ngorongoro crater where you will look out for the big 5 and later drive to Tarangire national park where you will encounter many elephants and giant baobab trees as you explore the destination.

During your safari, you will engage in game drives at different times of day in around the northern safari circuit of Tanzania as you look out for wildlife species such as the big 5 like elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalos. You will also see different bird species during your game drives around the destinations.

Some of the unique attractions you will see during your 6 days Tanzania wildlife safari include the Seronera valley, Lake Manyara, Tarangire river, the Ngorongoro crater where the Maasai people can also be seen in the neighboring villages. Your safari starts in Arusha and will also end with drop off by your guide on the last day in Arusha.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1; pick up and drive to Lake Manyara national park

Pick up will be at the airport in Arusha and your guide will welcome you for your safari. You will have a short briefing about the safari before driving to Lake Manyara national park. About two thirds of the national park is covered by Lake Manyara which is a shallow alkaline lake found at the destination.

You will check in at your lodge and have your lunch and during the safari you will also engage in a game drive and explore the diverse scenery in Lake Manyara national park as you look out for wildlife species such as elephants, lions, buffalos, giraffes, monkeys, baboons, hippos, waterbucks among others and also different bird species such as flamingos on the shores of lake Manyara. You will have dinner and overnight at Nsya lodge.

Day 2; drive to Serengeti national park

After having breakfast at your lodge, your guide will pick you up and drive you to Serengeti national park. You will search for a variety of wildlife species in Serengeti during your safari around the central part of the national park such as wildebeests, elephants, zebras, lions, leopards, buffalos, gazelles, hippos, giraffes, cheetahs, rhinos, antelopes among others.

You will check in at your lodge in Serengeti national park where you will have dinner and overnight at Osinon camps and lodges.

Day 3; full day in Serengeti national park

Your day will start your full day in Serengeti national park with breakfast at your lodge before engaging in a morning game drive. During your game drive you will search for wildlife species in the savannah plains such as the big 5 like elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos and rhinos as well as other wildlife species like wildebeests, zebras, hippos, giraffes, cheetahs, antelopes among others. After your game drive you will have lunch.

After your lunch, you will engage in another game drive in Serengeti national park in search of more wildlife species and also to enjoy driving around the beautiful scenery in the national park. You will later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Osinon camps and lodges.

Day 4; drive to Ngorongoro crater

On the 4th day of your safari your breakfast will be served at your lodge in Serengeti national park after which your guide will drive you to Ngorongoro conservation area where you will engage in a game drive along the crater floor. You will see attractions like Lake Magadi after descending about 600 meters into the Ngorongoro crater.

You will also look out for wildlife species such as elephants, lions, black rhinos, leopards, buffalos, wildebeests, zebras, antelopes, impalas, hippos, cheetahs, hyenas, warthogs among others during your game drive in the Ngorongoro crater. Your guide will later drive you back to your lodge where you will have dinner and spend the night at Hhando coffee lodge.

Day 5; transfer to Tarangire national park

You will have breakfast at your lodge and check out of the lodge as you prepare to be driven to Tarangire national park where you will engage in a game drive. The national park is known for being home to many elephants and also other wildlife species.

After checking in and having lunch at your lodge, you will engage in a game drive around Tarangire national park where you will see attractions like Tarangire river and also look out for wildlife species such as lions, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, gazelles, klipspringers among others. Tarangire national park is also home to over 600 bird species. You will be driven back to your lodge after the game drive for dinner and overnight at Tarangire Roika lodge.

Day 6; departure

Your breakfast will be served before checking out of your lodge. You will continue your journey to Arusha where your guide will drop you off at the airport or your hotel in Arusha and this will bring your safari to an end.
