Detailed itinerary

Day 1 of the 5 days luxury safari in Tanzania

Pick up from Arusha and transfer to Tarangire national park, depending on where you are located on day 1 of the 5 days Tanzania luxury safari you will be picked by our driver guide who will give you a short briefing about the safari and then start the journey to Tarangire national park. The national park is located in the northern part of Tanzania and the journey takes about 2 to 3 hours drive, on the way you will have great views of the Masai villages, landscape, farmlands, traditional homesteads, local people among others. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge, have lunch and prepare for an afternoon game drive.

Afternoon game drive, after lunch you will meet up with your driver guide to go for an afternoon game drive in the park where you will have views of large herds of elephants, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, waterbucks, elands, hartebeests, bushbucks, gazelle, giraffes, hyenas, cheetah, leopards, lions, wild dogs, different bird species like red and yellow barbet, speckle fronted weaver, tawny eagle among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive in Tarangire national park and transfer to Serengeti national park

Morning game drive, after an early breakfast on day 2 of the 5 days Tanzania luxury safari you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park for a morning game drive where you will be able to view animals when they are most active. During the game drive you will have incredible views of predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs if you are lucky before they go back to their hiding areas, views of large herds of elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, waterbucks, hartebeest, warthogs, wildebeest, gazelle, Dik Dik, elands among others grazing in savannah and acacia woodland plains with due, views of bird species like Kori bustard, white crowned shrike, vulturine guinea fowl, yellow collared lovebird among others. You will also be able to view the beautiful sunrise and iconic baobab and acacia trees. After the morning game drive you will drive to the lodge for lunch.

Transfer to Serengeti national park, after lunch you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Serengeti national park. You will pass through the rift valley escarpments and continue the journey with an optional visit to the Maasai villages where you will be able to interact with the Maasai people to know more about their culture, tradition, enjoy their traditional entertainment through music, dance and drama among others. After the Maasai cultural tour you will proceed to Serengeti national park and upon arrival check into the lodge, have an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Full day game drive in Serengeti national park

Morning game drive, after an early breakfast on day 3 of the 5 days Tanzania luxury safari your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive which starts at around 6:00 am. The morning game drive in Serengeti national park is more rewarding in that you will be able to view animals when they are most active for example you will be able to view animals like elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, gazelle, waterbucks, elands, impalas among others grazing in the open savannah and grassland plains with due, view predators like lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, cheetahs hunting if you are lucky, view primate species like baboons, vervet monkeys, , bird species like silver birds, flamingos, have stunning views of the sunrise among others. After the morning game drive you will have a picnic lunch under acacia trees with great views of animals or drive back to the lodge and return back for the afternoon game drive.

Afternoon game drive, after lunch you will go for another game drive where you will drive to Seronera river valley which is one of the best areas for wildlife viewing. Seronera alley is known for harboring big cats like lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals and other animals like hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, impalas, topi, bat eared foxes and different bird species. During the game drive in Seronera valley you will also get an opportunity to witness the great wildebeest migration where wildebeest, zebras, gazelle and other antelopes migrate from the south to the northern part of the park in search of fresh grass. After the interesting game drive you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer from Serengeti national park to Ngorongoro conservation area

After a relaxed breakfast on day 4 of the 5 days Tanzania luxury safari you will check out of the lodge and with your lunch box meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area. On the way you will have great views of animals in Serengeti national park and a stopover at Olduvai Gorge site which is situated between Serengeti national park and Ngorongoro crater. During your tour at Olduvai Gorge site you will have an opportunity of knowing the history of the site, visit the Olduvai Gorge Museum which overlooks the gorge where you will be able to learn about various fossils that were discovered by the Leakeys, learn about the hominines of plants and mammals that lived in the area, interact with a resident about the importance or significance of the area and after have you packed lunch. After lunch you will proceed to Ngorongoro crater with a stopover at the gate where you will be have spectacular views of the crater floor, take beautiful pictures among others. You will later descend down into the crater through the lush forests at the crater walls and when you reach down the crater floor you will have great views of animals like the big five mammals which include elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards and black rhinos, view other animals like cheetahs, zebras, wildebeest, warthogs, view different bird species among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Morning game drive and departure to Arusha

Morning game drive, after breakfast on the last day of the 5 days Tanzania luxury safari your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a another game drive in the Ngorongoro crater where you will be able to view some of the animals that you might have missed during the previous game drive. During the game drive you will descend down into the crater through the lush forests where you will be able to view different bird species. once you reach the grassy crater floor you will have an opportunity to view animals like buffaloes, wildebeests, gazelle, zebras, warthogs, hippos, impalas, elands, hartebeest, elephants black rhinos grazing, view predators such as lions, hyenas, leopards, cheetahs among others which are attracted by large numbers of prey, have views of different bird species such as flamingos, black kite, Hildebrandt’s spurfowl, black winged lapwing, rufous tailed weaver among others. After the amazing game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.

Departure to Arusha, after lunch you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Arusha town and upon arrival you will be dropped off at the airport for your international departure flight or dropped at any place of convenience.
