Detailed itinerary

Day 1 of the 5 days safari in Tanzania

Transfer to Lake Manyara national park, depending on your location on day 1 of the 5 days safari in Tanzania your drive guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha or Arusha airport, brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Lake Manyara national park in northern Tanzania. On your way you will have great views of the local people, beautiful landscapes, traditional homesteads among others and upon arrival you will check into the lodge and have lunch. After lunch you will go for an afternoon game drive where you will be able to view different animals like elephants, zebras, giraffes, warthogs, buffaloes, impalas, bushbucks and the tree climbing lions if you are lucky. The tree climbing lions can be seen lying up in the acacia tree branches staring at their prey, these tree climbing lions can also be viewed in Queen Elizabeth national park in Uganda. During the game drive you will also have views of different bird species such as greater flamingos, emerald cuckoo, crowned hornbill among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive in Lake Manyara national park and transfer to Serengeti national park

Morning game drive, after an early breakfast on day 2 of the 5 days safari in Tanzania you will meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive in the park where you will have incredible views of predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs and spotted hyenas hunting, view other animals like elephants, buffaloes, zebras, dik dik, giraffes, bushbucks, banded mongoose, bohor reedbuck, primates like olive baboons, blue monkeys, view bird species like yellow billed stork, pink backed pelican, crowned eagle among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.

Transfer to Serengeti national park, after lunch you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Serengeti national park. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge and prepare yourself for an evening game drive where you will have views of animals like buffaloes, elephants, wildebeests, hartebeest, waterbucks, gazelle, oribi, impala, zebras, warthogs, have views of bird species, stunning sundowner among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Full day game drive in Serengeti national park

Full day game drive, after breakfast on day 3 of the 5 days safari in Tanzania your driver guide will pick you up to go for a full day game drive in the park where you can either carry packed lunch or opt for a lunch break and return for an afternoon game drive. During the full day game drive you will be able to explore the park with spectacular views of different vegetation types, plant and tree species, view different animals like elephants, buffaloes, zebras, hartebeest, gazelle, waterbucks, bushbucks, view predators like cheetahs, leopards, lions, hyenas, jackal, hunting dogs hunting for the prey, have views of primates like patas monkeys, vervet monkeys, baboons, view different bird species because Serengeti national park is one of the top birding destination with birds like rufous tailed weaver, grey breasted spurfowl, silver birds, flamingos among others. During the game drive you will have beautiful views of the sunrise and witness the great wildebeest migration where wildebeest, zebras, gazelle and other antelopes migrate from Serengeti plains crossing the Grumeti River to the Masai Mara in Kenya in search of fresh grass. You will have lunch under the shade of an acacia tree or drive back to the lodge. After lunch you will go for an afternoon game drive where you will view some of the animals that you missed during the morning game drive and later return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer from Serengeti national park to Ngorongoro crater

On day 4 of the 5 days safari in Tanzania you will have breakfast, carry your lunch box and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Ngorongoro crater which is the world’s largest unfilled volcanic caldera that is found in Ngorongoro conservation area. On the way you will have views of different animals in Serengeti national park and have a stopover at Olduvai Gorge museum where you will see and learn about the early Hominin fossils of plants and mammals that lived in the area, discover the history of the site, interact with residents to know the significance of the area among others. After the tour at Olduvai Gorge museum you will have lunch and continue to Ngorongoro conservation area where you will check into the lodge, relax as you prepare yourself for an evening game drive in the crater where you will have great views of animals like elephants, buffaloes, zebras, great views of the landscape among others in the crater floor. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Morning game drive and departure to Arusha

Morning game drive, on the last day of the 5 days safari in Tanzania you will have an early breakfast and your driver guide will pick you up to go for a morning game drive in the Ngorongoro crater where you will have incredible views of birds and animals such as the big five of elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards and black rhinos, other animals like wildebeest, gazelle, zebras, predators like cheetahs, spotted hyenas in the crater floor which gives you lifetime experiences. After the game drive you will return back to the lodge for lunch.

Departure to Arusha, after lunch you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver-guide to transfer to Arusha town where you will be dropped at the airport for your departure flight or dropped at the nearest hotel.
