2 Days Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater Safari is a fascinating adventure that will give you breathtaking and unforgettable experiences during your visit in Tanzania. During the safari which starts and ends in Arusha, you will be able to visit Lake Manyara national park which is located at the base of the Great Rift Valley in northern Tanzania. It’s the smallest national park in Tanzania but rich in biodiversity including different vegetation types, abundant animals like elephants, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, hippos, giraffes, leopards, otters, spotted hyenas, klipspringer, primates like olive baboons, blue monkeys, different bird species like flamingos, pink backed pelicans among others. Lake Manyara national park is famously known for the tree climbing lions which will be viewed lying up in the acacia tree branches. During the safari you will also visit Ngorongoro conservation area where you will engage in a game drive around the Ngorongoro crater which is the world’s untouched and unfilled volcanic caldera that is 2000 feet deep, 19km wide and 264 square kilometers surface. The crater also offers great views of bird species and different animals.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Arusha and transfer to Lake Manyara & Afternoon game drive
Pick up from Arusha and transfer to Lake Manyara national park, on day 1 of the 2 days Lake Manyara national park and Ngorongoro crater safari you will be picked from the hotel or airport by our driver guide who will later give you a short briefing about the safari and then start the journey to Lake Manyara national park which takes about 4 hours drive. On the way you will have incredible views of the beautiful landscape, local people, homesteads among others and upon arrival in the park you will check into the lodge and have lunch.
Afternoon game drive, after lunch you will meet up with your driver guide to go for an exciting game drive where you will be able to spot animals like buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, elephants, waterbucks, olive baboons, leopards, otters and the tree climbing lions which will be seen lying up in the acacia trees staring at the prey. Apart from Lake Manyara national park the tree climbing lions can also be seen in Ishasha sector, Queen Elizabeth national park in Uganda. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Ngorongoro crater for a game drive
On day 2 of the 2 days Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro crater safari you will have an early breakfast, carry your lunch box and check out of the lodge to meet up with your driver to transfer to Ngorongoro crater in Ngorongoro conservation area. The journey takes about 2 hours drive and upon arrival you will go for a morning game drive in the crater area where you will have spectacular views of the big five mammals such as black rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, lions and leopards, view other animals like zebras, cheetah, elands, gazelle, wildebeest, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, spot different bird species among others. After the incredible game drive you will have your packed lunch and then start the journey back to Arusha. Upon arrival, your driver-guide will drop you off at the nearest hotel or drop off at the airport for your departure flight.
