11 days Kilimanjaro hike and Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire safari is a tour which will start with a hike on Mount Kilimanjaro along the Marangu route and after completing the hike to the summit of Kilimanjaro, you will also engage in a Tanzania wildlife safari experience around the northern part of Tanzania.
You will engage in a wildlife experience around Tarangire national park, the Ngorongoro crater and also visit Serengeti national park during the safari which will end with drop off in Arusha.
Day 1; pick up and hike to Mandara Hut
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Moshi and welcome you. After reaching the gate where you will be registered before any activity is done. The potters will help you with the luggage as we start our hike to the mountain with great view of primates like colobus monkey, our hike will take us 3 to 4 hours to reach Mandara Hut.
Day 2; Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
On the 2nd day of your 11 days Kilimanjaro hike and Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire safari, have breakfast early in the morning before we start our hike of 6 hours with break off for lunch enroute, passing through rain forest and moorland through Maundi crater to the rim where you can have clear view of Kibo Crater. Our lunch break will be around Kambi ya Taabu here if the weather is ok we will have a nice view of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks, after our lunch we start our hike continuing from where we stopped and proceed to Horombo Hut reaching late afternoon or early evening.
Day 3; Horombo Hut– Kibo Hut
You will start with heavy breakfast, and later continue with a hike past the Alpine desert vegetation using the upper route passing through Mawenzi Hut, continue to Kibo hut which lies on the saddle area known as the Alpine desert with no water around. Resting early as the next day will be the summit attempt.
Day 4; Summit to Horombo Hut
You will start the hike early, wake up at mid night with our headlamps hiking through rocky parts to Hans Meyer cave to Gillman’s point near the crater where the challenge meets experience continue to the summit, have celebrations on top of the summit. After like 3 hours we descend down to Kibo for lunch, after lunch continue to Horombo Hut where you will have dinner and overnight
Day 5: Horombo Hut to Marangu gate to Arusha
Wake up early for your breakfast, after descend down to the main gate for the certificates and transfer to Arusha where you will check in at your hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Runako lodge.
Day 6; drive to Arusha and Maasai culture experience
On the 6th day of your 11 days Kilimanjaro hike and Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire safari, you will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha ahead of your Maasai cultural tour at a Maasai village where you will interact with the Maasai people and get to enjoy their beautiful culture, explore the homesteads and the surroundings, enjoy a traditional lunch and engage in other activities.
After the Maasai experience you will be driven to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Runako lodge
Day 7; drive from Arusha to Tarangire national park
After having breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and you will be driven to Tarangire national park. Tarangire national park is known for being home to large herds of elephants as well as over 600 bird species. You will check in on arrival at your lodge in the national park.
You will also engage in a game drive in the national park and you will look out for wildlife species such as lions, giraffes, leopards, buffalos, antelopes, zebras among others and also enjoy seeing baobab trees. Your guide will drive you to your lodge after the game drive for dinner and overnight at Eileen’s tree inn.
Day 8; drive to Ngorongoro conservation area
After having breakfast at your lodge, you will check out of the lodge ahead of a game drive around the Ngorongoro crater. You will descend about 600 meters into the Ngorongoro crater where you will search for wildlife species such as elephants, lions, leopards, black rhinos, buffalos, wildebeests, zebras, antelopes, elands, impalas, kudu, gazelles, waterbucks, warthogs, hyenas among others. While exploring the crater floor, you will also enjoy seeing flamingos along the shores of Lake Magadi which is found in the Ngorongoro crater.
Your guide will drive you back to your lodge after your game drive for dinner and overnight at Eileen’s tree inn.
Day 9; drive to Serengeti national park
On the 9th day of your 11 days Kilimanjaro hike and Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire safari, after breakfast at your lodge, your guide will drive you to Serengeti national park. You will have lunch in the national park and later you will engage in a game drive around Serengeti national park.
You will search for different wildlife species during your game drive such as the big 5 and many others during your safari. After your game drive, you will return for your dinner and overnight stay at Osinon camp.
Day 10; Full day in Serengeti national park
You will wake up for an early breakfast at your lodge ahead of a morning and afternoon game drive. You will engage in a morning game drive around Serengeti national park and look out for wildlife species like the big 5 such as elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos and rhinos as well as wildebeests, zebras, hippos, cheetahs, antelopes, giraffes, impalas, waterbucks among others.
After your morning game drive, you will have lunch and later engage in an afternoon game drive around the national park in search of more wildlife species. After your full day of wildlife viewing, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Osinon camp.
Day 11; departure
After having breakfast at your lodge, your guide will drive you to Arusha and drop you off at the airport or your hotel which will bring the Tanzania wildlife safari to an end.
